We tend to take our five senses for granted. The ability to see, smell, taste, touch, and hear opens our lives to a world of endless possibilities, even if we don’t know it. These faculties allow children and adults to take in everything that is around us.

Imagine trying to find a place or get directions from someone without our vision or hearing. It would be practically impossible to do so without someone there to help us get through the day. According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders (NIDCD), there are approximately 30 million Americans 12 and older, who have hearing loss in both ears.

Sign language most commonly used by the deaf and hard of hearing. Yet, not every one who is hearing enabled has learned or been exposed to this language. The following story may encourage others to learn this language, specially since you never know when it will come in handy.
