These Seniors Have Tattoos That Are Cooler Than Yours.
You’re truly never too old to get a tattoo, which is why the project "TattooAge. Never too old" loves discussing the meaning behind their senior citizens and their tattoos.
Riek probably has a story for every tattoo that’s hiding underneath her clothes. Whether they’re related to her own experiences or lessons, each story and memory has been immortalized in ink, and they look banging!
Jan is also part of the project, which also includes teaching materials that seek to inform, guide, and entertain the academic community.
Many folks think tattoos are something you get when you’re younger, but you never know what experiences and life lessons have caused a few senior citizens to get tatted, even at their age.
Each tattoo holds a story that is waiting to be unveiled, and the exhibition "TattooAge. Never too old," is ready to do just that.
Asides from showing the everlasting beauty of tattoos, the project hopes to tell the stories behind each individual that opened up and allowed themselves to get photographed, such as Thomas, who doesn’t even notice he’s covered in tattoos anymore, as he’s had them for over 10 years.
Rebha wasn’t afraid to take it to the next level and get a face tattoo.
So many people wonder how tattoos will fade or look with time, but for some of these folks, it’s not about the way they look. It’s about immortalizing a memory and carrying it close to their bodies.
Toos looks like your run-of-the-mill grandma, but if you look at her arms, you’ll notice a few details.
She’s proudly sporting a tattoo with a quote that clearly means something to her. A duo of flowers seem to decorate the rest of her arm, and she’s also added two more tats to her other arm as well. Clearly, she’s not afraid of needles.
