The Most Stunning Images Of Volcanic Lightening Ever Taken.

Volcano lightening. It's something I've never imagined existed. Now that I see what it does, I'm in complete awe. Imagine standing only a few miles away to witness the earth violently erupting with molten lava as the skies thunder back with sprawling flashes of light. Most of the time the lightening is hidden by clouds of ash, but on rare occasions you can see these volcanic thunderstorms. According to Martin Uman, this may happen because the plume being sent high into the skies develop a charge through the atmosphere on the way back down. As volcanoes erupt they typically release huge amounts of water that help fuel the thunderstorm as well.
