This Steel Door Was Sealed 75 Years Ago, You Were Never Meant To See What’s Behind It.

In 1935, a man named Dr. Thornwell Jacobs was growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of accurate information he needed for his studies on ancient civilizations. Determined to not make the same mistakes, he created the Crypt of Civilization, a massive time capsule filled with some of the world's most peculiar oddities.

The Crypt is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and serves as a permanent record of what life used to be like on earth. Check out the images below to take a journey through the past -- you're definitely going to be surprised at what you find inside.

The Crypt houses a vast multitude of old relics, some of them stranger than others.

The idea for the Crypt was to preserve things in a way that they hadn't been before,a veritable time capsule for people to use for reference in the future.
