This 86-Square Foot Apartment Is Like An Army Knife Full Of Space.
Among the grand Haussmann buildings of Paris, the maids’ rooms in contrast were designed small, with little to no light and literally a box with barely room to move. In modern times, these rooms have been forgotten or left to be used as storage rooms.
One family desperately needed a maid’s room for their au pair who required her own independent living space. Kitoko Studio was given the task of transforming an 86-square foot apartment in to a functional apartment with space for a bed, kitchen, table, chair, bookshelf, closet and bathroom. To make this task a reality, Kioto used a Swiss army knife as their inspiration.
