He Starts With Old Wire… Ends With The Bedroom You Always Wanted.
In what might be the most incredible and elaborate DIY project we've seen yet, one dedicated father has created something absolutely amazing for his daughter. After she told her father that she wanted a "fairy treehouse," he decided to pull out all the stops and make her one.
The project took over 18 months of working nights and weekends to complete -- and cost a chunk of change as well -- but as you'll see, it was totally worth it. You're going to be shocked when you see the finished product, and be amazed at how many steps it took to get there.
It all started with a drawing. The builder is an artist, and said that at first, it was hard to draw a treehouse that looked more cute than scary.
Then came the scale model. Using modeling clay and plywood, the builder created a 1:12 model in about 25 minutes.
Of course, there couldn't be a treehouse without space for it. That corner is the perfect location.
Since the project would take months, he had to section off a work area in the room.
A project like this is all about precision, so one-inch grid lines were made to match the model.
Then came time to draw the silhouette of the tree on the wall.
A steel skeleton was welded together. As the treehouse is intended to be climbed, it had to be pretty strong. The builder used materials that would support three adults to make sure that it would be okay for a kid.
Then he shaped rings for the branches at the top.
