Muslim Man Asks Strangers For Hugs In Paris… Watch How They Reacted.
A Muslim man stood blindfolded at Place de la République, asking strangers if they were willing to give him a hug. The square has become a symbolic gathering place for Parisians and visitors to mourn together following the November 13, 2015 attacks in Paris, France.
Written on two pieces of cardboard placed beside the man, was a message. Scribed in French it said, “I’m a Muslim, but I’m told that I’M A TERRORIST. I trust you, do you trust me? If yes, HUG ME."
You would think a lot of people would not want to go near the man given the bad press Muslims have received lately but quite the contrary. One after another, people gave the man a warm embrace. This is not a story of hate nor fear. It is a tale of tolerance and acceptance in the face of the worst tragedy France has seen since the Second World War.
