Edible Water Bubbles Could Be The Answer To The Plastic Bottle Epidemic.
Most people obtain their water in the most convenient way possible by purchasing bottled water at the store. Unfortunately, plastic water bottles have proven to be bad for our environment since it takes hundreds of years for them to decompose and billions of them are made each year in the US alone.
Plastic water bottles could be a thing of the past thanks to these innovative edible water bubbles. Yes, you heard right -- bubbles. They were created by a sustainable start-up company based in London. Don't be quick to judge this product, it might just change the world for the better.
These amazing edible water bubbles were invented by a sustainable packaging start-up company based in London. Talk about being innovative!
The edible bubbles are called the Ooho! The bubbles are essentially an encasing of a blob of drinking water within an edible membrane.
The membrane is made out seaweed extract.
This way nothing will go to waste. In addition, if the bubble is left unconsumed, it will fully biodegrade in 4-6 weeks.
The creative team behind these brilliant blobs is called Skipping Rocks Lab -- a team of engineering graduates.
The new engineers are from RCA and Imperial College London. They first introduced this "ground-breaking" concept in 2013.
