What He Saw In The Nightclub Washroom Changed His Life Forever.

In August 2010, Kris Caudilla of Jacksonville, Florida, pleaded guilty to one account of DUI manslaughter. After a break-up with a girlfrend, Caudilla went out for night of fun with friends.

The young man had a blood alcohol level of 0.158 in his system, almost twice the legal amount, and drove the wrong way on Florida 9A, ultimately slamming into a patrol car driven by Deputy James Anderson Jr. Anderson died after being taken to the hospital. He was 44, a retired Marine and father of four.

According to a statement from We Save Lives, Highway Safety Advocates, someone dies in a preventable traffic crash every 14 minutes. This is because people make the decision to get into a car while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or pain-killers, or use their phone, among other reasons and distractions, without thinking twice.

Caudilla is now facing 15 years in prison for what he did. From there, he's helping people make the right decision. Scroll below to see how.

You're young (or young at heart) and want to have a good time. So, you go out and have a few drinks. That never hurt anyone, right?

#5. This could be you.

Caudilla was going through a breakup with his girlfriend when he was out that night. He ended up driving in the opposite direction and crashing into a patrol car, taking the life of Deputy James Anderson Jr.

This could be you.
