This Bride Crocheted Her Own Wedding Dress… LOOK At The Finished Results.
Finding a wedding dress is usually a huge ordeal for the bride, and when Abbey Ramirez-Bodley couldn't find one that reflected her personal style, she decided to make her own. After seeing a crocheted dress on another bride, she realized that the style was perfect for her big day. With that, she set to work.
"I really fell in love with the idea," she explained in an interview. "I decided to change it a bit and make it into my own ideal wedding dress."
What happened next took about eight months of blood, sweat, and tears, but the final outcome is absolutely beautiful. See the images of Ramirez-Bodley's incredible gown below.
The dress required only about $70 of cotton yarn to crochet -- a fraction of what a wedding gown costs in a store.
Ramirez-Bodley's aunt taught her to crochet as a child, and helped her through this process. However, the two live 2.5 hours away from one another, so the back and forth process took about eight months.
After all of that hard work, she had the perfect dress. She wore it with a $100 green dress layer underneath, and carried this unusual bouquet.
As you can see, the dress fit the beautiful day perfectly.
"Making something with your own hands out of love is very special on the most important day of your life," said the newlywed.
