Ghostly Photos Of Wifi Signals Reveal Their Incredible Beauty.
Whether its for work or play, people depend on the internet. These electromagnetic signals work like ghosts, not visible to the naked eye but surrounding every aspects of our lives like home, work, and school.
Luis Hernan, a PhD student at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom, has captured the technological life of wireless networks for his project, Digital Etheral. "The fact we are becoming increasingly reliant on something that we can't see intrigues me. I wanted to find a way to show the wireless which is around us and also to show how it changes,” says Hernan.
Hernan designed an app, the Kirlian Device revealing Wi-Fi signals in colour.
The colours represent the signal's strength. Red is the strongest signal while blue is the weakest.
"It is an impossibly fragile and volatile infrastructure that holds our digital technologies together and shapes the way in which we interact with the digital world," explains Hernan.
