These YOUNG Kids Are Getting Awesome TATTOOS… And Their Parents APPROVE.
Seeing someone with a full sleeve of tattoos can be a surprise -- but when that someone is a little kid, the reaction can be downright shocking.
Before you freak out, read on: These tattoos are simply airbrushed, an attempt by a New Zealand tattoo artist to make ill children at local hospitals feel like the badasses that they really are.
His name is Benjamin Lloyd, and his request to give sick kids' confidence a boost via ink has gone viral. He's a skilled airbrush artist, and what he does for these kids is nothing short of amazing. "They've got nothing to do, they're stuck in their room all day and I would just love to go and put a smile on their faces," he said in an interview. Read more about Lloyd's work -- and see his subjects' smiling faces when he's done -- below.
Lloyd says it all started when he gave his stepson a temporary tattoo. According to Lloyd, the boy's whole demeanor changed.
"When I was doing children, the reaction was just amazing," he said.
"After they had it they would walk around, chins up, so confident and so proud. You can't help but just love that, so I just thought I want to go where there's heaps of kids and do that."
A hospital in Auckland now lets Lloyd come in and work his magic.
Some social media users have criticized the message that this is sending to children: That is, that permanent body art looks cool.
Then again, by the looks on these kids faces, it's hard to argue that this project is anything but positive.
