Children are constantly told by both parents and teachers not to be bullies; a group of fifth graders decided to take that lesson one step further. Five friends: Gus Gartzke, Tyler Jones, Landon Kopischke, Jack Pemble and Jake Burgess decided to add a sixth to their group, James Willmert. Willmert has a learning disability and was consequently teased a lot.
The five boys had James join them at their table for lunch and recess. The kindness and compassion they showed for their new friend not only shows a level of maturity beyond their years but serves as a lesson for other kids to be more tolerant and accepting.
