"There are times that I'll even talk to her as I work through a problem or map out a customer solution. I try out my sales pitches and presentations on her. She's not easily impressed or swayed."

Meet Meeka, possibly the most hard working employed dog out there. She's a valued team member at Accuride International Inc.'s Southeastern Sales Center, which just so happens to be her boss's, Michael Reegs, home office. She's one of the three employees there, the third employee being the other family dog, Kya. Meeka, however, has proved her worth in the company.

Reeg works remotely as District Sales Manager for the drawer slide manufacturer. Although pets know nothing of he industry, he's learned that they have great potential of being exceptional coworkers.

He loves that she pays attention to what he has to say and having her in the office gives him something to look forward to.

Meeka is so dedicated to her work that she'll even show face at the home office when Reeg is off traveling for work. Let's just say, her boss has been more than impressed.

Meeka will spend the whole day laying in front of the door if Reeg's office door happens to be shut, just in case he's really there. "In my opinion, that earned her the title of Employee Of The Quarter."

Michael Reeg

"I was not surprised at all when my dad first showed me the framed picture of Meeka as employee of the quarter because Meeka is very loyal to my dad and his (their) work," said Reeg's daughter, Madison.

Meeka earned her first award in early 2016, but she's been working hard ever since to keep winning "best employee."

Meeka's excellent work performance has also been recognized by Reeg's peers at the corporate office. They too agree that Meeka is more than deserving of all her awards.

"He sends an update after every quarter. Meeka is an outstanding support to Michael and his work," said a spokesperson for Accuride International.

It's almost the end of the first quarter of 2017, meaning it will soon be time to announce and give out another best employee award.

"I haven't decided yet if the prestige is going to her head, or if Kya feels disgruntled," says Reeg.

Michael Reeg

"Maybe a change is needed for one quarter, so that Meeka doesn't feel entitled. I want her to stay sharp."
