Tourists wanting to see gray whales in Baja California, Mexico got more than just a glimpse of the majestic animal. Vacationers had the rare opportunity to see two mothers and their calves swimming around their boat. One of the moms allowed people to stroke her, which encouraged her young one to also join in.
The gray whales make their journey to the San Ignacio lagoon after migrating from the Arctic. Boats are sent with tourists to see their arrival, while the large mammals clearly enjoy the welcome and friendly greeting.
