Here's the suitcase in its original condition, found in the neighbor's trash.

If there's one thing that tree lawns, thrift stores, and estate sales have plenty of: Old suitcases. They're bulky, heavy, and completely inefficient compared to newer models, so people are constantly throwing them out.

What you probably didn't know, however, is that these very same old suitcases can be converted into something incredible -- all you need is a bit of time, elbow grease, and plenty of liquor. See how one DIY'er completely transformed an old suitcase into a badass minibar for their wall (it's a lot easier than you might think).

It doesn't look like much, but it's about to transform into something amazing.

First, they removed the interior lining, which was basically just a piece of musty paper.

Scraped clean, the suitcase boasts a gorgeous wooden interior.

Next up came the painting -- they decided on the perfect shade of red.

There was also an extra piece created to go inside, specifically for bottles to stand on.

Closed, it still looks like a regular suitcase.

But open, it's no longer just a suitcase -- it's a perfect little mini bar for all your favorite drinks.

It's even got some fancy LED lights. Attached properly to the wall, you can store the bottles in the back and the glassware on the open lid. Pretty badass, right?
