If someone were to propose the idea of shooting themselves with a gun underwater, you'd probably recoil in terror and possibly lock them in a closet for a few days to prevent them from doing so. However, if that someone was a physicist with a propensity towards experimenting with extreme science, you just might want to give his idea a chance.
Physicist Andreas Wahl went ahead with this exact plan, testing the power of fluid resistance. He submerges himself in a swimming pool with an assault rifle less than ten feet away, using a string attached to the gun's trigger to fire. When he does, something incredible happens, and the slow motion footage of it all will have you on the edge of your seat.
